How do I get my child into school?
Admission for Nursery aged children
We aim to provide full time nursery places for children whose third birthday falls between September 1st to August 31st of the previous academic year. Children cannot be admitted into our nursery class until they have turned three years old.
Parents/carers should contact the school office if they wish to place their child’s name on our nursery waiting list. Admission to nursery is not based on how long your child’s name has been on the waiting list, putting their name on the waiting list earlier does not mean they will get preference to a place.
Please note: Our current Nursery class for children whose date of birth is between 01.09.2011 and 31.08.2012 is full. However, parents/carers can still request an application form from our school office and their child can be placed onto our waiting list. Your child is not guaranteed to be offered a place at this school so we therefore advise that parents/carers apply to more than one school.
The closing date for Nursery 2018/19 applications is Friday 2 March 2018. Any applications received after this date will still be accepted but will be placed onto our waiting list.
Nursery places will be allocated for September 2018 in March 2018 and parents/carers will be contacted if their child is offered a place at our school. If your child is not successful in obtaining a place, their name will remain on our waiting list and we will notify you in writing of this.
For further information on our admissions procedures for Nursery aged children, please see our Nursery Admissions page.
Admission for Reception aged children
The Local Authority of Manchester is responsible for the admissions of all our reception places, including children who are already in our nursery class. The Local Authority will write to you explaining how you can apply for a reception place for your child. The Local Authority form must be completed by parents/carers online by the nominated date in the year before your child is due to start reception. A late application could result in your child not getting a place at the school of their choice. Parents/carers who have a nursery place at St Paul's Primary School do not automatically get a place in reception at our school.
For further information on our admissions procedures for reception aged children or for the contact details of the Local Authority Admissions Department, please see our Reception Admissions page.
Admissions for Year 1 to Year 6 children
The Local Authority of Manchester is responsible for the admissions of all other year group places at St Paul's Primary School. You will need to contact the Local Authority to request an In-Year Admission Form. Once you have completed this form and returned it to the Local Authority they will place your child’s name on a waiting list for your preferred school and you will be contacted when a place becomes available.
For further information on our admissions procedures for Year 1 to Year 6 children or for the contact details of the Local Authority Admissions Department, please see our Year 1 to Year 6 Admissions page.
