Welcome back to One Voice! Christian Values- forgiveness When was a time you had to forgive someone? How did it make you feel? Important dates this week: - World Hygiene Day- what does hygiene mean? Which right is this linked to? Why is hygiene so important and how can we make sure we are safe in school? - May is National Walking Month- can you walk more this month? News Well done to everyone who took part in the Easter Service. We really enjoyed everyones singing and hope you did too! On 16th April, it was World Voice Day, a time to appreciate the power of our voices! To tie this in, I’d love to know if any of you play an instrument at home or if you are currently learning an instrument. Please let me know what instrument you play and I will share your details with Miss Edwards The weather is getting warmer and this week should be much hotter than it’s been lately. How can you stay safe in warm weather? Discussion: RR- Our Environment Last week was Earth Day. Earth Day has brought together people, governments and companies from around the world, supporting them to do something positive for the environment. It promotes the fact that ‘change starts with action’ and we can all take action and encourage others to take action that positively impacts on the world around us. Which articles does this link to? (6,24) What do you, your school and your family do that helps the environment and the planet? Split into groups and discuss, then feedback: Think about your local area. Are there any issues or challenges to the environment, such as air pollution, litter or lack of green spaces? How do these things affect children’s rights. as a group make a pledge to do one good thing for the planet Share your thoughts with the group and remember to be a good listener whilst others are talking, you might hear something inspirational! Positive Affirmation for today: Practicing morning affirmations can help you start your day on the right track. It puts you in a good headspace for tackling the rest of the day. This kind of positive self-talk becomes easier with practice and when you remember them they will pop into your head when you need it most. Can you remember last weeks? (I am proud of myself) I try my best every day. Thank you and have a great week! 😊
