Welcome back to One Voice!

Christian Values

We have spoken a lot about our Christian values. Which on means the most to you and why?

Important dates this week:

July is plastic free month. Why is this important? Last Friday the Green Team met author Sarah Roberts (who wrote somebody swallowed Stanley) she talked to us about animal conservation. She also showed us her scar from when she was bitten by a shark!

News

Temperatures are rising this week- how can you stay safe in the heat? Please leave your jumpers at home and make sure you have a water bottle in school.

Discussion: Times of change

Last week we talked about times of change and how we can look after our wellbeing whilst going through a period of change.

Change can be scary. Often it feels overwhelming because we look at it as one big event. If we break it up into smaller events it can be more manageable to think about. We can then use our growth mindset to think positively about change.

For example, you are scared about moving to a new house.

We can break this change down into: I will get a new bedroom. My family will still be there. I get to experience something new.  It is a chance to be brave.

In a small group can you break down this change: Moving up to a new class.

Share your thoughts with the group and remember to be a good listener whilst others are talking, you might hear something inspirational!

Positive Affirmation for today:

Practicing morning affirmations can help you start your day on the right track. It puts you in a good headspace for tackling the rest of the day. This kind of positive self-talk becomes easier with practice and when you remember them they will pop into your head when you need it most. Can you remember last weeks?

I look after myself and others.

Thank you and have a great week! 😊
