One Voice Agenda 12/11/2024
Date: 13th Nov 2024 @ 7:15am
Welcome to One Voice!
This week's reflection question:
Remembrance Day is a special day when we think about people who helped make our world a better place.
We should always try to be thankful for what we have.
Can you think of one good thing that happened to you last week?
Important dates this week:
- Non-Fiction November- what is a non-fiction book? Can you choose a non-fiction book this week- you will learn something new!
News:
Please remember that the green area of the playground is a quiet and equipment free area. No one should be playing football or using equipment in this area, it is an equipment-free zone. This is so children have a safe space to play. Please make sure that if you need extra equipment to play with you ask an adult to help you. It is not safe for you to be going into cupboards on your own.
What would you like to have in the playground, is there anything we need?
Rights Respecting
The new Rights Rangers can lead this part of One Voice:
Can you remember what the focus is for our Outright campaign this year? The Unicef Outright Campaign for 2024 is all about children and young people being change- makers. We want you to speak up and use your voice!
Which articles does this link to?
Article 12- I have the right to be listened to and taken seriously
Article 13- I have the right to find out and share information
Can you think of a time where your voice has been heard? or a time where you felt that you have made a change? At St Paul's we know how important it is for children to have their voice heard which is why we have One Voice. We have also recently had a pupil panel when we have interviewed new staff at St Paul's!
Do you have any other ideas for opportunities that could make children in St Paul's voices heard?
Discussion- Anti-Bullying Week
This week in Anti-Bullying week and children around the country will be discussing ways they can show respect to each other. Be Respectful is one of our school expectations. We are all very different, we have different families and houses and wants and needs. It is important that we respect our differences so that we can all be the best that we can be. It is normal to not agree on everything, we don’t all have to be the same and throughout your life you will meet lots of people who are different to you. To be a good person you must respect others.
We can be respectful to each other by always making sure we are saying and doing kind things.
What is kindness?
How can we show kindness?
Can you think of a time when you have been kind?
If someone is not respectful to you and you do not feel safe who can you go to for help?
This week in school all adults will be looking out for children who are showing kindness to others and rewarding these acts of kindness with house points.
Share your thoughts with the group and remember to be a good listener whilst others are talking, you might hear something inspirational!
Positive Affirmation for today:
Practicing morning affirmations can help you start your day on the right track. It puts you in a good headspace for tackling the rest of the day. This kind of positive self-talk becomes easier with practice and when you remember them they will pop into your head when you need it most. Can you remember last weeks? (I speak kind words to myself and others)
I speak out against bullying.
Thank you and have a great week! 😊
