A welcome from the Head Teacher

Hello and welcome to St Paul’s CE Primary School. Thank you for visiting our website, I hope it gives you a sense of what makes our school such a special place. Our children helped to create the video above, sharing in their own words what they love most about St Paul’s.

I feel very privileged and proud to be Headteacher here. For more than 175 years, St Paul’s has been at the heart of the Withington community, helping generations of children grow, achieve, and flourish. We are an aspirational small community school where every child is known, valued, and supported. Our pupils achieve very well compared to national expectations, but more importantly, they do so with a smile — enjoying learning, developing confidence, and building the skills they need for life.

What makes St Paul’s special is our community. We are rooted in Christian values, but we welcome children of every faith and background. Our dedicated staff promote high expectations and excellent standards of behaviour, enabling all children to flourish and reach their full potential. We are proud to be a Gold UNICEF Rights Respecting School, where diversity, respect, and kindness are at the heart of everything we do. Visitors often comment on the warmth of our staff and pupils, and the sense of belonging they feel as soon as they step through the door.

Ofsted (2023) recognised this too: “Pupils are proud and happy to attend this warm and welcoming school. Teachers develop strong and supportive relationships with pupils, encouraging them to meet their high expectations.”
